The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Monday, June 22 reveals Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will receive a life-changing diagnosis.
Also coming up, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will spill the tea to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Plus, Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will meet with Doctor Laurence Markham (Jere Burns). And Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will dig for clues.
Y&R spoilers tease at Diane will keep trying passwords to access the phone she found in a drawer. But the doctor will return. He’ll tell Diane he’s thought about her staying at his home rather than going to the clinic and he agrees she should stay and he’ll treat her.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Dr. Markham Says Patty Is As Sane As He Is
Then he’ll say he’s got a meeting and has to head out. So Diane will quickly ask what his zodiac sign is. “I was born on June 9 so Gemini,” he’ll reply. “Oh, like the twins,” she’ll quip. The moment he leaves, Diane will try combinations of June 9 on the phone, but to no avail.
At the Abbott estate, Jack will walk into the dining room to find a feast waiting for him. “Good morning sweetheart,” Patty will say. He’ll tell her he has a meeting and Patty will say she spoke with his assistant and changed his schedule. “I have lost my appetite and my patience,” Jack will tell her. “I made a mistake, letting you move in.”
Patty will say he’s overreacting and remind him if he wants her to leave she can’t vouch for Diane’s safety. Jack will say since his morning’s opened up, maybe they could meet with Diane’s doctor. Patty will say she’s already arranged for it. He’ll assume it’s at the clinic where Diane’s being treated. “No, he’s coming here,” Patty will say.
Jack will ask when he’ll be there and Patty will tell him in about an hour. She’ll ask how they’ll pass the time. “I could think of something,” Jack will reply. He’ll tell her there’s a jar of lemon curd in the fridge that would pair perfectly with the muffins she made.
So Patty will head to the kitchen and Jack will text Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). “Doctor coming to the house. Wait outside, then follow to see if he leads you to your mother.” Then Dr. Markham will arrive and sit down with Jack and Patty.
Jack will tell him he’d like to speak to his wife. “Her treatment team doesn’t feel like that is a good idea,” the doctor will reply. “It was your betrayal that sent Mrs. Abbott into an emotional spiral.” Then Jack will ask how he released Patty into society. “I can unequivocally state that Patty is as sane as I am,” Dr. Markham will say, with a straight face.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Victor Suspects Claire Also Invited Nikki
Meanwhile, after going for an MRI, Nikki and Victoria will meet with a specialist. He’ll tell Nikki there’s a mass on her optic nerve. “If not successfully treated, it could lead to total blindness.” A shocked Nikki will ask if she can have surgery. He’ll say she can but the operation itself could also lead to blindness.
A shaken Victoria and Nikki will return to her hotel room and she’ll say she’s going to send the MRI to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Then Claire will call her grandmother and invite her to lunch at the GCAC, since she already had plans with Victor. But Nikki will pass.
After she hangs up, Victoria will tell Nikki they’ll find her the very best doctors. “I’m willing to get a second opinion and talk to Nate, but the facts are indisputable,” Nikki will reply. Victoria will say she needs to let her tell Victor about her diagnosis.
“Absolutely not,” Nikki will reply. “There is no reason your father needs to be told.” Victoria will be stunned. “He’s your husband, he loves you,” she’ll add. “What you’re facing, that changes everything.” Nikki will say she doesn’t need him or want his pity. And she’ll ask Victoria to promise she won’t give him the truth.
Finally, Claire will meet with her grandfather for breakfast at the GCAC. Victor will spot the extra place setting and suspect it’s for Nikki. A waiter will come over to remove it and Victor will say she must have suspected the same thing and declined to come.
“It’s not what you think,” Claire will tell him. “Grandma’s been having a lot of headaches lately and they’ve been accompanied by blurred vision.” Claire will add that her mom took Nikki to the doctor today. But will Victor reach out to his wife?
